On Friday, Luxembourg's government agreed to grant permission to Radiolux S.A. to broadcast over the radio frequency of 107.7 MHz (FM) via a high-power transmitter for commercial purposes.

A public call for the allocation of the frequency 107.7 MHz had been published early 2015 after DNR Radio (St Paul group) has ceased broadcasting. Following the opinion of the Independent Broadcasting Authority in Luxembourg, the candidature of the Radiolux company had been selected.

The government cabinet meeting formalised its decision in granting permission to Radiolux to operate the "L’essentiel Radio" service accordign to a specific framework. The start of the broadcast of the service (in French) is planned for the second half of February.

The shareholding of RadioLux is as follows: Edita, publisher of L’essentiel (40%), a cluster consisting of Vincent Bragard, Serge Leenman and Samuel Tabart (35%), CLT-UFA (25%).
