Gault Millau, the publisher of gourmet guides, unveiled the winners of the Luxembourg Guide 2017, this Monday, 24 October.

The guide goes on sale on November 7 after its presentation in Belgium. Gault Millau has also launched a new 100% Luxembourgish gastronomic website. The site will include all of the restaurants listed in the guide.

The Guide was launched at Casino 2000 in Mondorf with a "Grande Region" dinner concocted by several chefs such as Wolfgang Becker (DE-Becker's, 18/20), Clément Petitjean (BE- Auberge de la Grappe d'Or, 17/20 ), Loïc Villemin (FR-Toya, 16.5 / 20) and Alain Pierron (LU-Roses, 15/20) and around 300 entrepreneurs, leaders and Luxembourg and foreign gourmets were in attendance.

"Meal of the Year" was awarded to Mosconi for its pasta menu, of which Marc Declerck, Managing Director of Gault Millau Benelux SA said, "An extraordinary experience renewed several times and never disappointing." Other winners include, Yuri Neyers (Scheiss Les Arquebusiers) for "Dessert of the Year", Didier Le Hesran (Clairefontaine) for "Maître d’ of the Year", Olivier Schanne (The Crystal) "Sommelier of the Year" Roberto Fani (Fani), for "Mediterranean of the year" and Thomas Murer (Aal Schoul) "Discovery of the year.

Finally, the guide paid tribute to the well-known personality Daniel Rameau, who was President of Euro-Toques for many years and helped in many ways in the development of gastronomy in Luxembourg and beyond. The head of the Rameaudière was therefore awarded the trophy for "Personality of the Year."
