Minister for Agriculture, Viticulture and Consumer Protection, Fernand Etgen, today announced the opening of a new project entitled "Een Oppend Ouer fir de Bauer, Wenzer a Gäertner" ('An Open Ear for Farmers, Wine-Growers and Gardeners').

The project is an initiative developed by the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Chamber of Agriculture and MBR Lëtzebuerg, and will provide a helpline to farmers, winegrowers and gardeners in Luxembourg who are seeking advice for any livelihood issues they may be experiencing.

The helpline will be launched 13 July 2015, and will be available every Monday from 14:00 until 16:00. This helpline will provide those who may be finding it difficult to make ends meet with the opportunity to discuss these issues with an experienced member of staff, who will offer support in solving the problem and connect them with an appropriate person or institution which could help.

These calls will be treated confidentially and anonymously. To contact the helpline, call toll-free number 8002-7171.
