Luxembourg’s Ministry of Agriculture has lifted its order on compulsory stabling of domestic and agricultural birds and poultry that was issued last November after cases of avian influenza (‘bird flu’) were identified in Germany last year. The repeal is effective from 1 April.

No cases of bird flu have so far been identified in Luxembourg according to the ministry.

The ministry affirms that feeding and watering of birds outside, in areas not protected from wild birds, is still prohibited.

Abnormal deaths of birds and poultry must be reported immediately to the veterinary administration, either by email: info@asv.etat.lu, or telephone: (+352) 247-82539.
