Real estate developer Codic today announced that, with the support of the City of Luxembourg, the company will be continuing work on the Royal-Hamilius project during the collective holiday for the construction sector in the month of August.

Codic stated that this exceptional authorisation accorded by the Inspectorate of Labour and Mines was initiated to avoid delays in the work being performed and with a view to concluding the implementation of the new access tunnel to the future Royal-Hamilius car park in August 2015. The company explained that the month of August is a favourable period for intense construction to due to the accompanying lower traffic intensity in the city centre.

Codic went on to thank the teams at Entreprise Générale, l'Association CDCL-Tralux and Lingenheld as well as various City departments who have been involved in the Royal-hamilius project. The company will be reportedly setting up a monitoring unit for the entire period of collective leave in August 2015.

The Ville de Luxembourg also announced that due to construction work, a trench will be required at the junction between Boulevard Royal and Avenue Monterey. This will take place between 19:00 and 22:00 on Thursday 30 July 2015 and between 07:00 and 22:00 from Friday 31 July to Monday 3 August 2015.

This work will affect the level of traffic at Boulevard Royal, with a lane maintained towards Place de Bruxelles. All public car parks will remain open during this period of construction, but due to subsequent traffic congestion those wishing to use the Knuedler car park are advised to access it via Avenue Marie-Thérèse.

City buses will not be affected and buses will continue to serve all stops along their regular routes.
