Friday 13 January 2017 marked the official opening of the new 185m bridge at Eurohub Sud.

Last Friday, the Luxembourg Deputy Prime Minister, Etienne Schneider. and Secretary of State for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, Camille Gira, attended the opening of a viaduct, 185m in length, at Eurohub Sud.

The newly opened bridge connects the logistical activities site, formerly the site of WSA, and the multimodal site at Eurohub Sud, between Dudelange and Bettembourg. This makes Eurohub Sud a unique site which is well connected to the motorway network.

With the opening of this bridge, which should be finished by the end of the year, Eurohub Sud’s logistical activities site will employ around 1,000 people and its multimodal site will employ over 400. The bridge is one of several infrastructures put in place to ensure fluid road traffic around the site.

The connection between the logistical activities and multimodal sites will benefit rail traffic and promote this logistical and intermodal approach to businesses to strengthen their access to more ecological transport means.

Secretary of State, Camille Gira, added that “the new bridge is an essential element in sustainable transport policy in the Dudelange/Bettembourg region.”
