Nordea announced Thursday that it has appointed Snorre Storset Head of Wealth Management and CEO of Nordea Bank Norge ASA.

43-year-old Storset, who became a Group Executive Management (GEM) member at the financial services group just two months prior, will succeed Gunn Wærsted who will be stepping down from her roles at Nordea to pursue a career holding board positions. She will continue to advise at Nordea until her retirement from the bank in April 2016, whilst Snorre Storset will take up his Head of Wealth Management role from 1 February 2016 and his new CEO of Nordea Nank Norge ASA from today, Thursday 14 January 2016.

CEO of the Nordea Group thanked Gunn Wærsted for her achievements as Head of Wealth Management, a member of Group Executive Management and CEO of Nordea Bank Norge, saying "Gunn has played an instrumental role in the development of Nordea. Under her leadership Wealth Management has become a leading international wealth manager and the leader by far in the Nordics."

Snorre Storset first joined the Nordea team in 2010 as Head of Products & Operations in Asset Management from the position as CEO of Handelsbanken Liv. He became Head of Nordea Life & Pensions in 2012, before being appointed Deputy Head of Wealth Management in November 2015. He holds an MSc in Economics and Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).
