Luxembourg-based asset management boutique, European Capital Partners has announced that renowned value investor Léon Kirch has joined as partner and CIO; the 43 year-old Luxembourg national already announced the rebranding of the firm’s asset management strategies in listed equities.

Throughout his career in asset management, Léon Kirch has developed his own, unique way of looking at value investing. He calls his personal style "Entrepreneurial Value Investing”, where, by combining entrepreneurial thinking with consistent implementation of high conviction ideas, he has been achieving an outstanding performance record over the last seventeen years for the companies that he worked for and for the funds that he managed.

Patrick Hansen, Chairman of the Board of Directors at European Capital Partners and CEO of Luxaviation, the world’s second largest business aviation group, said “Léon Kirch has been fascinated by value investing since the beginning of his education and career as a professional investor more than 15 years ago and offered with his entrepreneurial approach to value investing the ideal strategic complement to this firm”.

Léon Kirch is joined by key team members from his former venture, which was managing Nordea’s European Value Fund, as well as by his long term companion and former CEO of Sparinvest, Jan Stig Rasmussen, whom he convinced to join ECP as an Independent Director.

European Capital Partners has received an asset manager license and is in the process of obtaining regulatory clearance from the Luxembourg CSSF for its range of investment strategies in a UCITS format.
