State Street Corporation announced today it has appointed David Suetens as the new country head and managing director of State Street in Luxembourg.

Suetens will replace Marty Dobbins who has decided to leave State Street after 30 years. Suetens will report to Susan Dargan, head of State Street Global Services Offshore in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Suetens and Dobbins will work closely over the next few months to ensure a seamless transition.

Suetens is currently executive vice president and international chief risk officer in State Street’s London office, where he leads the company’s risk management operations. Before joining State Street in 2012, he served as chief risk officer at ING Investment Management and as global compliance, legal and risk management officer at ABN AMRO Asset Management and Fortis Investments after the separation from ABN AMRO Group.

Susan Dargan said “David has more than two decades of experience in global financial organisations. He brings significant expertise in both risk management and global compliance – two main areas of focus for our clients who are looking to grow their business within a complex regulatory landscape. I would also like to express my sincerest gratitude for Marty’s thirty-year tenure at State Street. His contributions to our success, not only in Luxembourg but also globally, have been significant. We wish him all the best in the next step in his career.”
