On Wednesday 10 August 2016 POST Luxembourg announced that the new collective agreement for all employees has been signed by representatives of the POST Luxembourg and the LCBG and OGB-L trade unions covering the period from 1 January 2016 to 30 June 2018.

According to POST Luxembourg, The latest collective work agreement (CWA) provides for a pay increase as well as a progression in certain seniority levels for most careers and one-off adjustments for specific careers. This readjustment also makes open positions more attractive on the labour market.

With regard to career development, all progression and promotion criteria have been clarified. As a general rule, career development shall be achieved upon the fulfilment of certain conditions and on merit. The new measures will therefore take into account the annual assessment, training, ability to adapt, seniority and the changing nature of the job.

Following 17 months of negotiations, the new collective agreement includes, among others, the following improvements:

- A wage increase of €70 for all the defined ranks in different careers (A-F), which will be paid retroactively as of 1 January 2016;
- A 100% recognition of professional experience within the POST group;
- A faster promotion in an early career: first rank after one year of service, second rank after three years of service, third rank after seven years of service;
- An automatic grade rank advancement and conditioning after fifteen and 25 years of seniority;
- The publication of vacancies via Agora or e-mail;
- The publication of a list of current day functions for various careers.

For his part, thePOST Luxembourg CEO, Claude Strasser, “commends the work carried out during the consultations held with staff representatives. With this second version, POST Luxembourg now has an up-to-date collective agreement, offering attractive conditions to our employees and, through which, POST has demonstrated its commitment to its employees.”

THE LCGB and its delegates has stated that they are satisfied with the results obtained. The improvements of the new collective agreement applies to all employees of the POST and is not limited to a specific group. Reinforced by the 100% recognition of professional experience within the POST group, improvement of the internal mobility of all employees therefore guarantees equal opportunities.

Through negotiations, the LCGB assumed its responsibilities by staying true to its promise to ensure jobs and salaries. All the represented unions have accepted this new agreement and jointly appealed to have the following entry added into the framework of the law of POST Luxembourg: “All wages in the company are expressed in points and the value of is that it is applicable to employees of the state ..."

POST Luxembourg concludes that with the new agreement no group of employees will no longer be discriminated while still ensuring at the same time a stable and productive future for employees and the group POST Luxembourg.
