Europol has announced the launch of its new campaign #MobileMalware as part of the European Cyber Security Month (ECSM).

The new campaign aims to provide information on tips on how to protect ourselves from cybersecurity risks when using our smartphones and tablets. Indeed, whilst new technology has many advantages, their weaknesses can lead, in some cases, to very serious risks. The campaign #MobileMalware focuses on offering clear practical advice on the four main types of Threats: apps, banking malware, web-based threats, unsecure Wi-Fi connections, and ransomware.

Some of the practical advice which the campaign offers individuals and businesses, so as not to fall victim to these threats, include installing apps from trusted sources only, keeping your operating system and apps updated, logging out of sites after making a payment, and backing up your data, among other tips.

Europol/ EC3 has organised this campaign, which is financed here by the Luxembourgish police, in collaboration with SECURITYMADEIN.LU, Bee Secure, and ABBL, under the coordination of the Ministry of Economy.
