The ministers in charge of steering the "Digital Lëtzebuerg" initiative met with the Board Members of ICTLuxembourg on Wednesday to address the evolution of the ICT sector in the Grand Duchy.

"Digital Lëtzebuerg" brings together both public and private actors and feeds off the exchange of ideas from all partners. ICTLuxembourg comprises the federation of nine assoications of the Luxembourg ICT sector.

During the exchange, Luxembourg Prime Minister and Minister of State, Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy, Étienne Schneider, and Minister of Finance, Pierre Gramegna, discussed recent advancements in digital development and new recommendations. Topics such as the start-up ecosystem, FinTech regulation, cybersecurity challenge, awareness of SMEs to the digital economy, skills development, connectivity and the European construction of a digital single market were particularly addressed.

ICTLuxembourg expressed satisfaction at having contributed to the implementation of some major projects, such as the creation of the Digital Tech Fund and the application of the Digital by Default principle and commended the government.

Xavier Bettel thanked ICTLuxembourg for its active participation in the implementation of the "Digital Lëtzebuerg" initiative and encouraged further dialogue between the two institutions in the future, in the interests of the Luxembourg ICT sector and the modernisation of the country.
