The semi-final of the Startup World Cup will be held in Luxembourg on 8 March 2017 in the premises of EY.

As part of a global series of conferences and competitions with the goal of bridging startup ecosystems worldwide, the Startup World Cup event encourages the most talented entrepreneurs to battle to win the Startup World Cup.

Sixteen regional events are scheduled all over the world and will lead up to a Grand Finale in Silicon Valley. The regional semi-final, and the first event of its kind in Europe, will take place in Luxembourg next month.

This event will give Luxembourg startups exposure to Silicon Valley and access to some of top VCs and tech entrepreneurs in the world.

The winner of the pitching competition will represent Luxembourg at the Grand Finale in Silicon Valley competition on 24 March with fifteen other startups for a chance to win a US $1,000,000 prize in investment.

Keynote speakers of the Luxembourg ceremony will include Thaïg Khris (Founder and CEO of OnOff & Three times world ramp skating Champion), Jonathan Prince (Co-founder of Digicash Payments), Olivier Lemaire (Partner and Telecom Leader of EY Luxembourg) and Kamel Amroune (Managing Director of IT One).

The jury members of the Luxembourg competition are Raz Bachar (Head of Startup Business Development, EMEA, Amazon Web Services), Warrick Cramer (Global Head of SCM Strategy & Innovation, Vodafone), Yannick Oswald (Principal, Mangrove Capital Partners) and Alain Rodermann (Founder and Managing Partner, Expon Capital).
