Founded in late 2010, with the support of the Ministry of Economy of Luxembourg, Microsoft BeLux and venture capital firm Rollinger Venture Capital, the Luxembourg start-up iNUI Studio that develops innovative software solutions in the field of "Natural User interface "(NUI) has signed a partnership agreement with Samsung in South Korea.

"We have especially developed the AirxTouch technology (patents pending) that enables any window, without contact, to become interactive through gesture recognition. We also specialise in solutions aimed at making large screens interactive," said Olivier Raulot, co-founder and CEO of iNUI Studio.

To market these products, the company which is based in Foetz, has chosen to focus on the corporate market, and has achieved account success with customer references from banks, real estate agencies and major groups, in Luxembourg, Belgium and France in particular. The SME is also active in the field of interactive street furniture.

To grow, iNUI Studio relies on renowned partners such as Microsoft and Samsung Electronics Europe with which the SME has signed a partnership agreement in July to deploy the AIRxTouch™ technology on the French market.

To date, the turnover from its South Korean adventure is circa €350,000, but the market potential is huge. With the free trade agreements with Korea, it is possible for a small startup like iNUI STUDIO (9 employees), to position themselves on a vast market because costs such as administrative procedures are comparatively lightweight.

With the increased interest from the South Korean venture, iNUI Studio now aims to deploy internationally and especially in the European and American market. "We aim especially for the European and American markets at first. The ambition is to build a network of resellers and become closer to major TV manufacturers to initiate partnerships. Negotiations are underway. In South Korea, in April 2016 we established a co-marketing agreement for our AIRxTOUCH™ technology with Samsung for the European market. For now, the volume of business is in its infancy, given the importance of the market; however, the potential is enormous and it's a nice business card," explained Olivier Raulot who also stressed the quality of the business environment.

"The free trade agreement between the EU and South Korea is a tool that certainly makes our lives easier. A small company like ours that employs 9 staff does not have the financial and human resources to ensure the management of heavy and burdensome administrative procedures. With South Korea, everything is easier," said Olivier Raulot. Inui Studio has achieved €1 million turnover in 2015, 70% for export.
