Telecommunications service provider Tango today reported that the turnover of the Proximus subsidiary in Luxembourg has experienced a Year over Year (YoY) increase of 10.2% and now stands at €62 million.

Tango announced that it has continued to increase its market share and recorded higher profits in the first six months of 2015, as well as an increase of 4,000 clients to its customer base as compared to the previous year. Average revenue per user (ARPU) also grew by 4% to €28.50.

In the second quarter of 2015, Tango revenue was reported to have increased by 11% YoY, ultimately generating €31 million. the company stated that this growth was due to an increase in mobile sales and the average price of devices sold, which went up by 23% this quarter. Tango reported that the increase reflected customer interest in latest technologies and the 4G and 4G+ services of the high-quality Tango network, with the former also reportedly benefitting revenue from fixed Internet which profitted from the continued migration of ADSL customers to the ultra-high-speed services of fiber and VDSL.

The results of the quarter reported were accredited to the success of the new Tango Smart subscriptions and the revision of the company's TV offering. Other highlights of the first six months of 2015 were cited as a steady increase in mobile customers to 287,000 and a 15.6% rise, following the strengthening of Tango's all.in-one offer, in its Internet customer base as compared with the first half of 2014.

The number of TV customers also rose, with a strong growth at the end of 2014 maintained through to the start of 2015 to ultimately represent a 65% increase. Additionally, the first half of 2015 demonstrated a 10.2% increase in turnover compared to the same period of the previous year.

"Our very good results for this quarter confirm our strategy but also, and above all, the quality of our services," stated Tango CEO Jean-François Willame. "Our customer base is constantly growing and we acquired 1,000 more customers this quarter. These first six months are more than encouraging in terms of both our revenue and customer base. The new version of our Tango Smart subscriptions, adapted to all the communication needs of our customers and including 30 days of free roaming everywhere in Europe during the summer, as well as our September offers, will support this growth in the third quarter."
