As announced after the “Conseil de gouvernement” on 18 November 2015, JOIN Experience has ended the anonymity of its mobile prepaid cards (Banana SIM).
This decision is valid with short notice for the acquisition of all new mobile prepaid cards sold in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg and also in Belgium, inside all their physical shops and also their online shop.
An ID card will be needed while acquiring a new mobile prepaid card. However, JOIN Experience stated that this it is only a minor change for them because the majority of prepaid cards are purchased online, a process already requiring the customer’s identification.
Users of existing mobile prepaid cards will shortly be informed about the process to identify themselves. Meanwhile, existing cards will work as usual and do not require any intervention of their users.
