On Tuesday 8 November 2016, Luxembourg’s Minister of Housing, Marc Hansen, attended the opening works on the Société nationale des habitations a bon marché (SNHBM) in Kirchberg.

Marc Hansen visited the site of the three new SNHBM residences in Kirchberg in the presence of the Mayor of Luxembourg City, Lydie Polfer. The residences form part of the “Domaine du Kiem” project.

The SNHBM is carrying out the project, which encompasses some 900 houses, of which 450 belong to the society itself, in collaboration with the Fonds d’urbanisation et d’aménagement du Plateau de Kirchberg (FUAK).

All of the buildings which the SNHBM develops correspond to class A energy criteria.

In order to guarantee the endurance of social housing on the market, the SNHBM benefits from pre-emptive rights for 99 years for all housing on this site. During this period, the owner is forbidden to rent the housing or to leave it empty.
