Jan De Nul Group has acquired a contract to deepen the port of Veracruz in Mexico. The dredging areas include the access channel and the anchoring and anchoring basin. In total, approximately 13 million cubic meters will be removed and backfilled to create five new port terminals. In tonnage, the total annual traffic will be increased up to 100 million, exceeding traffic in the two largest ports of Mexico, Lazaro Cardenas and Manzanillo. Work will start in the summer and the project will be completed in March 2018. For this project the giant suction dredger with Marco Polo disintegrator will be used.
