Luxembourg’s craftsmen and women are now represented at the National Council for Sustainable Construction, according to a joint statement from the Ministries of Economy, of Housing and of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure.
Created in 2014 as a non-profit association to contribute to the competitiveness of the national construction sector, the National Council for Sustainable Construction (CNCD) recently adopted two new members, the Chambre des métiers and the Luxembourg Fédération des artisans, representing the sector.
As a platform for reflection providing information and recommendations for the construction sector and Luxembourg society as a whole, the goal is that the CNCD should be better positioned to face the important changes that the sector must meet, in particular within the framework of the Rifkin Strategy.
At the international level, the CNCD is now officially a member of the World Green Building Council (WGBC), a network of national entities in sustainable construction and the largest international organization influencing the sustainable construction market.
The CNCD is composed of the main representatives of the construction sector, in particular the Council for the Economic Development of Construction Association, the Real Estate Association of Luxembourg, the Group of Building Materials Manufacturers and the Association of Architects and Consulting Engineers, in addition to the Chamber of Crafts and Federation of Craftsmen. The Luxembourg government is represented by the Ministry of the Economy, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Housing.
