Luxair has confirmed that due to 2014’s good performance results, the Group’s Board of Directors has indeed approved its ambitious fleet renewal strategy, which aims at continued growth over the next decade, in two phases; the first of which, is the acquisition of three new Bombardier Q400 twin turbo-reactors by 2016.

The first two will be delivered by the end of this year.

The second phase consists of an evaluation between 2018 and 2020, of a new generation of midsize jets with reduced passenger seat costs, which would further the company’s development.

The strategy reflects the need for Luxair to continue its growth through a gradual capacity increase, while remaining profitable through controlled unit costs.
