Logistics service provider Logwin, headquarted in Grevenmacher, today reported that it has expanded its Polish services portfolio in Krakow.

Logwin operational employees have been organising global air and sea freight transports for regional companies at the Krakow sales office since July, and increasing transport volumes and an expanding client base prompted the company to extend the services it offers locally.

The central geographical location of Krakow has made the southern Polish city an important, rapidly-growing economic centre for the logistics sector, with many foreign companies now choosing to take advantage of its infrastructure investments and special funding packages and establish business operations there.

Branch Manager in Krakow, Bartosz Hruszka, explained that "In recent years we have built up close relationships with companies in the Krakow area and accompanied their growth."

Logwin employs around 300 people in seven locations across Poland, representing one of the country's market leaders in LCL sea freight imports.

With a consistent economic growth since the 1990s, barely scratched by the euro crisis, Polan has been heralded as the model of economic success among the countries of Central Europe. Growing domestic demand, well-educated and highly-motivated workers, a stable political environment, EU financial support and special economic zones for investors to benefit from favourable conditions have all contributed to a large internal market with a sustainable economic environment.

Germany constitutes a significant trading partner for Poland, representing over 26% of the country's exports and more than 27% of its imports. Many large German companies choose to root their production sites in Poland and from there ship their products to international markets.

Logwin's client companies in Poland therefore cover a wide range of industries, including automotive, electronics, cosmetics, fashion and textile sectors.

"Exports are increasing across the country - and we're also seeing this in Krakow," continued Hruszka. "We speak the local languages, are familiar with the conditions on the ground and enjoy good relationships with airlines, shipping companies and customes authorities. This allows us to help our customers to open up new markets".
