Luxaviation reported Thursday that it will be entering the Indian market for the first time after its subsidiary ExecuJet obtained a license to develop, build and operate a fixed-base operator (FBO) and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facilities at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.

The licenses were developed along with ExecuJet partner The Bird Group, which holds 500 large groups among its clientele, after being held at the tender for new FBO and MRO services.

"This is an important step for us because India has figured for a while among our goals," commented Mike Berry, Deputy Director of ExecuJet Middle East. "The airport was awarded only two licenses to consolidate and improve MRO and FBO services. The new facilities provide the platform which ExecuJet needs to continue its growth strategy and achieve the expansion of its geographical coverage and range of services. I congratulate Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) for the transparent tender process. The Bird Group is an ideal partner for this expansion programmes with its headquarters in Delhi, its experience and its expertise in aviation services."

Radha Bhatia, President of the Bird Group, continued: "We are delighted to announce a partnership with Luxaviation group which is a global leader in aviation business. In line with the 'Make in India' programme, we will create advanced infrastructure on a global scale for private aircraft operators."

"Our entry into the Indian market represents a significant step in the development of our activities in Asia which remains a high growth market for business aviation," concluded Patrick Hansen, CEO of the Luxaviation Group, which will be setting up a technical planning team over the course of the next three months.
