Dachser has annoucned that it has opened an office in Hanoi to meet demand for freight and logistics services in Vietnam’s fast growing export manufacturing sector.

As Vietnam continues to attract new investment from a range of industries, Dachser has responded by opening a new office to complement the company’s established Ho Chi Minh Office in the south of the country.

Vietnam’s exports and trade are growing very quickly and many of our customers have recently established production facilities in the north. In order to meet this demand, we opened the Hanoi office bringing us closer to the developing manufacturing hubs and to our customers in this part of the country,” said Michael Deisemann, Managing Director Air & Sea Logistics Vietnam.

With rising land and labor costs in other parts of Asia, Vietnam has benefited from a significant shift in manufacturing particularly in garments, footwear and electronics. In addition, the recently signed Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement will result in a dramatic reduction in tariffs on a range of export products from Vietnam to eleven Pacific Rim countries including the U.S. during the next 10 years.

The office will manage ocean cargo and airfreight services to Europe, Intra-Asia and USA.  It will also provide FCL and LCL cargo consolidation as well as warehousing and value added services on demand.
