Frankfurt-Hahn airport has announced that two pilots of the Latvian cargo airline RAF-Avia have been stationed at the German airport.

Following a test phase with one pilot was relocated from Magdeburg-Cochstedt to Hahn, another plane of RAF-Avia has now been welcomed.

Latvian cargo airline RAF Avia has been flying regularly since the beginning of August to and from Frankfurt-Hahn Airport.

"We are delighted that we were able to convince RAF-Avia to come to Hahn," said Roger Scheifele, Head of Sales. For the decision, several reasons were involved, including the 24-hour operationand the flexibility in the handling. "Our service has convinced" said Roger Scheifele. At the same time the freight business for new customers has seen a very good start, so now a second aircraft is stationed at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport.

The two pilots are primarily used for ad-hoc charter flights, for short scheduled cargo flights for the automotive industry, as well as for other flights in Europe with the two aircraft.

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is the sixth largest freight airport. In 2015, around 80,000 tonnes of cargo were handled at the airport.
