Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Étienne Schneider dug the first shovel for the building of the new logistics centre of GN Logistics in the Krakelshaff Economic Zone in Bettembourg.

The proximity of the almost 4,500 m2 premises to the intermodal terminal will allow GN Logistics to make greater use of multimodal transport and by 2020, the company's goal is to use the combination of rail and road for 40% of its journeys.

This investment project in the logistics sector strengthens the links between Luxembourg and Scandinavia, especially Sweden, where the family group GN Logistics originated.

In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Étienne Schneider said: "The Group's choice to expand its activities in Luxembourg confirms that our stable and competitive economic environment remains a major asset for Outside their country of origin. The decision of GN Logistics reinforces our strategy of investing in logistical infrastructures and promoting the development of logistics activities with high added value in Luxembourg ".

The logistics sector is particularly dynamic in Luxembourg. Since 2013, some 150,000 m2 of space has been or is being built in relation to logistics, representing an investment of more than 163 million euros from the companies concerned.
