CFL has announced that there will be ongoing maintenance and modernisation works carried out on the rail network during the school Easter holidays.

In order to minimise inconvenience caused by these works, particularly with regards to the partial closure of lines 10, 30 and 60, works on these lines will be carried out mostly during the month of April. However, to ensure continuity of their services, alternative measures have been put in place for the different sections concerned by these projects.

In order to meet the ever-increasing demand of passengers on line 10 "Ligne du Nord" and line 30 Luxembourg - Wasserbillig - Trier and to provide more flexibility, several major projects are currently underway, including the construction of a second Pulvermühle viaduct, the implementation of the new Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg stop and the dual carriage of the Luxembourg - Sandweiler-Contern section. In the context of these projects, work will be carried out during the three weekends from 8 to 9, from 15 to 17 and from 22 to 23 April.

During the period from 8 to 24 April 2017, various modernisation and maintenance work will be carried out at the Bettembourg - Esch-sur-Alzette section of line 60. Such work will involve, among other things, the abolition of three level crossings within the municipality of Schifflange.

CFL foresees the installation of anti-noise walls in the agglomeration of the commune of Schifflange. During the closure from 8 to 24 April, the CFL will develop the foundations for these anti-noise walls in the future. During the same period, other administrations will benefit from the closure for the execution of their maintenance and conversion work.
