On Thursday 2 June 2016, the Rap Marathon will return to Rotondes for the sixth time under the new name of Hip Hop Marathon and the theme of "Beauty".
The Hip Hop Marathon enables students in the preparatory system to express themselves on stage or walls in the form of rap, dance and graffiti. Accompanied by their teachers, they are able to engage in workshops provided by various artists.
This year, 16 groups will be participating in the project: 4 in Graffiti; 4 in Dance; and 8 in Rap. The schools joining the sixth edition are Lycée Bel-Val; Nordstad-Lycée; Maacher Lycée; Lycée Technique d'Esch-sur-Alzette; Lycée Technique Mathias Adam; Lycée Technique de Bonnevoie; Lycée Nic-Biever Dudelange; Lycée Classique de Diekirch (annexe Mersch); and Lycée Technique du Centre.
A public event will be offered at 19:00 on Thursday 2 June 2016, with a school event the following day at 10:00. Further events will take place later in the month at different venues, including at the Kulturfabrik at 10:00 on 15 June 2016 and the Mierscher Kulturhaur at 10:00 on 21 June 2016.
