Voices International has announced that the choir is recruiting ahead of its Spring Season 2017; the cut-off date is on Monday 30 January.

Voices International (VI) is a choral group in Luxembourg open to all adults of all levels of musical training and knowledge who enjoy singing in a group and performing for audiences.

They perform two seasons of concerts each year, the first in June and the second in December. Voices International rehearses weekly on Monday evenings at 19:00. There are also several Wednesday rehearsals, especially close to the performance period.

Rehearsals are held at 19:00 on Mondays and some Wednesdays at the International School of Luxembourg (ISL) in Merl.

Several things that make Voices International unique are:

- Voices International uses English as its main working language;
- Last season 24 different Nationalities were represented;
- They sing a wide variety of musical styles (rock, popular, vocal jazz, soul, blues, gospel, barbershop, traditional, classical and more);
- They memorise their music, which allows them more freedom to express what they are singing;
- They mix a bit of choreography into their performances as well;
- They sing many of their songs in English, but always include some songs in other languages in each repertoire;
- Concert proceeds go to support local and international charities.

What does it take to be a member?

There is no minimum requirement for prior musical training or experience, but you must be willing to attend rehearsals very regularly and spend the required additional time practicing on your own to learn the repertoire. They do check that each member knows the music before they are allowed to participate in the concerts but there is no formal audition to get started. In order to help the members learn the music they provide them with practice tracks and other tools to aid in the learning process.

Voices International is also a very sociable group, and some of them usually end up together for a drink and/or a meal after each rehearsal and performance.
