On 15 March, RIFF and Syrian Youth in Luxembourg will host an evening of exchange and discovery of Syrian heritage through a celebration of Syria's art, film and food at Rotondes.

The evening is being held on the anniversary of 15 March 2011, a day Syria became known as a “cradle of revolution” after a pro-democracy protestors gathered in Damascus to demand reform and the ouster of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. That uprising has since cascaded into the humanitarian crisis confronting Syria today.

From another point of view, Syria is also known as one of the “cradles of civilisation”, associated with the first alphabet, the first literary salon, the world’s earliest farmers and settled people, a place of unparalleled geographical, historical, artistic and cultural wealth.

The evening runs from 18:30 to 23:30, and tickets are €18 (including €1 for the ticketing), and can be booked through the Rotondes website
