Villeroy & Boch in Luxembourg has opened a new exhibition "Villeroy & Boch Creations -a European family of entrepreneurs with Luxembourg roots" at the Chateau de Septfontaines in Luxembourg-Rollingergrund, with a vernissage on Thursday evening.

As well as Luxembourg's Minister of Culture, Maggy Nagel, Alderman the City of Luxembourg, Patrick Goldschmidt, and members of the Villeroy family in attendance, so too were artists who works were displayed.

The exhibition highlights the talent and artistic creations of 26 members spanning ten generations of Villeroy and Boch families, including impressionists Anna and Eugène Boch, as well as the renowned photographer Monika von Boch. The works exhibited invite art-lovers to discover the varied talents of these artists who expressed themselves through painting, photography, textile arts and the creation of jewellery.

In their addresses, Gabrielle de Schorlemer de Theux and Wendelin von Boch-Galhau welcomed, on behalf of all the members of their families, the meeting of all these styles, which are found grouped together in a common exhibition at the Chateau de Septfontaines: "For the first time, creative members of both families have their works displayed in this context and within this framework. The Chateau de Septfontaines is considered as the basic unit of creative activities of Villeroy & Boch. One example here that the Old Luxembourg decor, whose success continues until today, for the first time has been reproduced on porcelain Villeroy & Boch in 1768."

In his speech, Gabrielle de Schorlemer de Theux also discussed the future direction of the area surrounding the castle: "Now, our families and Villeroy & Boch have the ambition to make Chateau de Septfontaines part of the territory of the city, where urban life is palpable and also allow it a tremendous boost."

The collection will be exhibited at the Château de Septfontaines, Luxembourg-Rollingergrund until 29 November 2015.
