The premises in Luxembourg city centre currently occupied by the Bibliothèque nationale de Luxembourg (BNL - National Library) are to be used for a National Gallery and youth housing, as agreed by the Luxembourg government's cabinet which met on Friday, which took on board the results of a feasability study carried out recently.

The BNL is moving to new premises in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, freeing up the premises beside the city's cathedral. Next year the government is excpected to agree to the permanent move of the National Archives to Esch-Belval.
