The ville de Luxembourg has confirmed that the roads on the four sides of the Place du Theatre in Luxembourg city centre will be resurfaced this coming week-end; the resurfacing works will also extend to the rue des Capucins (between rue Beaumont and rue des Bains), as well as the côte d’Eich (between rue Willy Goergen and Grand-Rue).
The roadworks will be carried out in distinct phases, as follows:
- from Friday 26 August @ 21:00, until Saturday 27 August @ 06:00: due to the work to remove the current surfaces, the rue des Capucins, the côte d’Eich (between rue Willy Goergen and Grand-Rue, as well as the place du Théâtre, will be closed to all traffic, as will adjacent streets. Access to/from garages of residents and the Theatre car park will not be possible, but it will be possible to leave cars there during the roadworks.
- from Saturday 27 August between 06:00 and 21:00: traffic will be able to access the Theatre car park.
- from Saturday 27 August @ 21:00 to Sunday 28 August @ 06:00: the rue des Capucins, côte d’Eich (between rue Willy Goergen and Grand-Rue), as well as the place du Théâtre, will be closed to all traffic, as will adjacent streets. Access to/from garages of residents and the Theatre car park will not be possible, but it will be possible to leave cars there during the roadworks.
