On 15 and 16 February 2016, Xavier Bettel will be in Berlin in his capacity as newly-appointed Minister of Culture and of Communication and Media, for a meeting organised in conjunction with the 66th Berlin Film Festival.

Prime Minister Bettel will attend the informal meeting of European Culture Ministers, dedicated to 'European Film in the Digital Age', at the invitation of German Minister of State for Culture and the Media.

The Prime Minister of Luxembourg will also present an honorary award to Liz Mohn, President of the Verwaltungsgesellschaft (BVG), as well as celebrate the work of Director General of the Federal Film Board (FFA Filmförderungansalt), Peter Dinges, and the Director General of the Österreichisches Filminstitut, Roland Teichmann.

Xavier Bettel is also due to attend the traditional reception held jointly by the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Berlin and Film Fund Luxembourg, bringing together professionals and partners from the audiovisual production sector as well as representatives of the world of culture.

The Berlin International Film Festival, also known as the Berlinale, opened on Thursday with Joel and Ethan Coen's 'Hail Caesar!' and will be held until 21 February 2016. For this edition, Meryl Streep is holding the role of President of the Jury.
