Various Luxembourgish films feature among the nominations for the 4th edition of Trophées Francophones du Cinéma, as announced last week on TV5Monde.

The Trophées, supported by ATFCiné, are set to take place on Saturday 3 December 2016 in Beyrouth. Among the works nominated this year are four Luxembourgish films:

- ‘Voices from Chernobyl’ (in French: La Supplication), nominated for best feature-length documentary;

- ‘Demain, après la guerre’, nominated for best male actor (Luc Schiltz) and best direction;

- ‘Pearlies’ (in French: Quenottes) for best short film; and

- ‘The Brand New Testament’ (in French: Le Tout Nouveau Testament), nominated for best feature-length fiction , best male actor (Benoît Poelvoorde), best secondary female role (Yolande Moreau), and best screenplay (Jayo Van Dormael and Thomas Gunzig).

As part of the 4th edition of the awards ceremony, all finalist films will be screened in the Montaigne de l'Institut Français du Liban cinema between 18 November and 1 December 2016.

The awards ceremony will be held on 3 December 2016 and will be broadcast on all TV5Monde networks.
