On Tuesday 13 October 2015, CAPE Ettelbruck will be offering an audiovisual journey to unearth the mysteries of Rome and discover the lifestyle of the people of the Eternal City with a documentary by Philippe Soreil.

This exploration of the Eternal City, guided by Philippe Soreil, will launch the 'World Exploration' programme, comprised of six dates and places including Rome, South Africa, Iran, Argentina, Burma and Portugal.

Through captivating and impressive images and live commentary from the documentary directors, viewers will gain insight into the habits and culture of remote and remarkable countries around the world.

The first step of the world tour will stop off at Rome, with Soreil's documentaries highlighting its colours, smells, movements, music and laughter. In the last fifty years, Italy has grown from an emerging country to a symbol of art and elegance. The film is built on the succession of the seven days of the week, referencing the seven hills of Rome, the seven kings of Rome and the Book of Genesis. Daily life in Rome will  be explored, through ancient and modern art, cinema, the city's green spaces, with the film ending 'on the 7th day' at the Vatican.

Documentary director Philippe Soreil has been a TV and radio presenter for 35 years and a documentary producer for the likes of RTL TVI and RTBF, as well as a writer of travel books. His taste for travel developed from the early age of 8, with Italy becoming his second home through summer stays with his parents. Since then his passion for exploration has led him to the four corners of the globe, from Antarctica to the Galapagos, French Guyana to the Indian Continent, Iceland to South America, whilst retaining a special love for Rome and all it encompasses.
