On Wednesday 23 November 2016 at 20:00, a film by Nizar Al-Rawi is to be screened at the Aula in Redange in an event organised by the Soroptimist Club Mosaik/Réiden and the Lions Club Grand-Duché Ardennes.
A Serious Comedy (30 mins, with EN sub-titles) has received numerous awards internationally.
The film-maker (main actor and producer) Nizar Al-Rawi is the President of Contemporary Visual Arts Society, Head of Iraq Short Film Festival, Critic, writer, and is one of the founders of the movement of cultural renewal in post-Saddam Iraq. He arrived in Luxembourg in May 2016 where he has applied for political refugee status.
Prior to the screening, he will present the film and, afterwards, will answer questions from the audience.
The cost for the evening is €25 which includes the film screening plus some Iraqi snacks and soft drinks.
