The Utopolis Kirchberg cinema will be showing the preview of the film ‘Souvenir’ on Thursday 12 January 2017, starting at 19:30.

Luxembourg-based Deal Productions, which produces independent films and televised programmes, has organised the screening of the premiere of Bavo Defurne’s Souvenir in Utopolis Kirchberg.

The romance film, directed and co-written by Bavo Defurne, stars Isabelle Huppert as a forgotten Eurovision singer who falls in love with a young aspiring boxer, played by Kevin Azaïs, who convinces her to attempt a comeback.

When discussing the rationale behind his film, director Bavo Defurne explained how he wanted to explore what happened to participants who had not won the Eurovision song contest. His films are known for their aesthetic value and attention to detail and Souvenir is no different, mixing a dream-like quality with reality.

Souvenir is a Flemish film produced in French, which adds to its special quality.

The film lasts 90 minutes and will be shown in the presence of the filmmakers.

Tickets cost 9 or reduced 8.10.
