Kinepolis Luxembourg will be screening a series of documentary films at Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg on art exhibitions and artists in 2017-18, featuring world renowned artists including Michelangelo, Canaletto, David Hockney, Cèzanne, Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet.

- Tuesday 13 June 2017 @ 19:00 & Sunday 18 June @ 14:00 @ Ciné Utopia: Michelangelo - Love and Death. To coincide with a glorious new exhibition at the National Gallery of London, this film offers a full and fresh biography of Michelangelo who, with Leonardo, is considered one of the greatest artists of the Renaissance – and perhaps of all time. This film explores his relationship with his contemporaries and his immense artistic practice which included painting, sculpture and architecture. Not least the universally adored David in Florence, the Sistine Chapel in Rome and the Manchester Madonna (today at the National Gallery). This major new film goes to the heart of just who was this tempestuous, passionate but much loved genius.

- Thursday 12 October 2017 @ 19:00 & Sunday 15 October @ 16:30 @ Ciné Utopia: Canaletto & the art of Venice. From one of the world’s largest art collections comes the remarkable story of Canaletto and the city he shared with millions through his art. With exclusive access to the highly anticipated exhibition at the Queen’s Gallery, the film opens the doors of London’s Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle and takes cinema audiences through the squares and canals of Venice that Canaletto immortalised through his art. Including expert commentary and insights from curators of the Royal Collection, the film also reveals the intriguing story of how his works came to hold pride of place in the Queen’s own Picture Gallery.
