On Thursday 6 July at 20:30, the Cinémathèque in Luxembourg city centre (Place du Theatre) will host the screening of the documentary film "Jökullinn logar" (Inside a Volcano).

The event is being organised by G-Media sarl, publisher of The Luxembourg Chronicle and organiser of the British and Irish Film Season (BIFS) and the Nordic Film Festival (NFF). This film is being screened shortly before the start of the UEFA Women's EURO 2017 which is being held from 16 July to 6 August in The Netherlands. Iceland's national women's football team have qualified to participate among the 16 national teams.

The film is directed by Sævar Guðmundsson.

Synopsis: The rise of Icelandic football. Ever since they were kids practicing in the snow in Iceland, they were told they would never play in a major football tournament. This is a true underdog story of how a nation of only 330,000 defied the odds with attitude and a new head coach. The filmmakers had unlimited access to the Icelandic national team from the beginning of their journey to their ultimate childhood dreams - Euro Cup 2016.
