Between Thursday 4 August and Saturday 3 September 2016 the mir&danza dance company is organising this summer’s edition of Luxembourg City Dance.
This year’s theme will be “Rodin Live in the City” with eight internationally-renowned dancers participating: Alice (CH), Yoann (F), Aude (F), Yvonne (D), Selina (UK), Marie (B) and Teresa (P).
The dancers will be inspired by the sculpture of Auguste Rodin and will incorporate poses, slow motion, pauses, free dance, transition, reflection, movement and stillness.
They will be dancing in the pedestrian zones of Luxembourg’s city centre. Precise timings will be announced in short notice on the “Danzatelier MW” page on Facebook.
As the dancers are not paid, the mir&danza company has requested for donations for the dancers.
Today Wednesday 17 August, and until Saturday 20 August 2016 2-3 dancers from Luxembourg, Portugal and Germany will be dancing the pedestrian areas of the city.
There will be dancers in the airport around lunchtime on Thursday 18 August 2016. On Friday 19 and Saturday 20 August 2016 there will be dancers around the area of the Gare.
In the week from Monday 29 August until Friday 2 September 2016 there will be five dancers from France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
