The TROIS C-L | Centre de Création Chorégraphique Luxembourgeois is organising an event on Miguel de Cervantes’ novel on Saturday 3 September 2016 at 19:00 at the Banannefabrik (12 rue du Puits, L-2355 Luxembourg-Bonnevoie), entitled COMBAT which features four separate, but inter-linked, performances.

The spotlight is on Miguel de Cervantes and his globally-known novel, The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha. In this production, multiple artistic perspectives will converge to revisit this masterpiece of Spanish literature from the 17th century.

COMBAT: David Bruny, head of the Ando Dance Company since 2011, presents COMBAT which was created in June last year. He is an emerging choreographer, who spent over 10 years as an interpretive dancer in the Ballet de l'Opéra de Lyon, followed by the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève, before entering into the creation of choreography.

This piece was borne of a period of Cervantes’ life, just before he moved towards being a writer. COMBAT therefore is the story of destiny, of every man, artist, creator, who fights to exist and bring to creation his works.

On a repeint Rossinante: Hosted by TROIS C-L “On a repeint Rossinante” is a 2016 creation by Company Flex. It is based primarily on the collaboration of two artists, Francis Albiero and Claude Magne. The former is a clown, and the latter a choreographer. They decided to combine their respective art forms and venture into the unknown, drawing inspiration and loosely basing their work on the whimsical duo that is Sancho and Don Quixote. Through these two different brotherly accomplices, they tell the story of the 21st century man, through the eyes of a 17th century novel.

The Chimeras: The evening will continue with The Chimeras, an exhibition by Alfons Alt, an artistic-photographer on an incredible journey. This series is comprised of 13 works, characteristic of his art, as they are produced through an old photographic method known as "Altotype". This technique gives the imagines a dreamlike aspect to them, bringing the viewer into a dreamlike state.

CROSS DANCERS: Finally, the public will join Jennifer Gohier and Grégory Beaumont on their choreographic world tour, which made its debut last March. These modern-day adventurers went on a journey to discover the Fanglao Dance Company in Laos, through unexpected encounters in Thailand and Bali.
