Simone Mousset was made laureate for the Lëtzebuerger Danzpräis 2017, "an award to recognise the merit of a courageous young choreographer, whose singular artistic approach develops a sincere and original message. The jury congratulates the laureate and encourages her to continue in this way,” said a statement from the Ministry of Culture.

Under the presidency of Marie-Laure Neiseler, the jury was composed of Carl Adalsteinsson, Sylvia Camarda, Anne-Mareike Hess and Mathis Junet.

The official award ceremony will take place on 3 October 2017 at the 3C-L Centre for choreographic creation in Bonnevoie.

Since 2011, the Ministry has awarded the Lëtzebuerger Danzpräis with a €5,000 prize to a young dancer or choreographer who has distinguished himself or herself in his field, and has already gained international attention for at least one benefit. This prize is intended to encourage contemporary dance creation or the artistic merit of a young dancer in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
