British cult trio The Tiger Lillies will return to the CAPE cultural centre in Ettelbruck for the third time to present their new programme “Madame Piaf” on 18 November 2016; the event will start at 20:00.

The British band The Tiger Lillies will revive Edith Piaf, the famous French cabaret singer in their programme “Madame Piaf: Songs from the Gutter- The Life of Edith Piaf.” The programme features around 20 original compositions from Martyn Jacques which aim to revive the chaotic life of Edith Piaf. It is an eccentric journey into the universe of La Vie en Rose which is a mix of burlesque and singing in the streets.

The Tiger Lillies themselves are often described as ‘dark cabaret’, creating a world where surrealism blends with dark humour, and where the music hall meets the lyricism found in the opera or even post-war French music. Unique in their genre, the band, made up of Martin Jacques, Adrian Stout and Jonas Golland, often involves itself in multidisciplinary artistic projects from theatre and cinema to dance. Many of their albums have achieved international success and they have won two prizes in the United Kingdom, at the Oliver Awards, for their album Shockheaded Peter.

The entry fee for “Madame Piaf” is €36, or €18 for people under 26 years old. Reservations should be made via tel: 2681-2681.
