Preparations were in full swing today at Herchesfeld in Roeser, as the site was readied for the 10th edition of the Rock-a-Field 3 day festival which opens tomorrow.

The open-air festival, which will run from 3-5 July 2015, will feature brand new elements and spots for the thousands of festival-goers expected to attend. The organiser of the annual summer event, The Atelier, have emphasised their wish to ensure the comfort of RAF attendees as the motivation behind the site's new features. Amongst these is a water spray feature contributed by construction company Entrapaulus to help keep partyers cool in the 30°C+ temperatures, as well as a tent roof covering the Startin' Stage for the first time, which is made of a special material to prevent heat insulation.

The new beach area, complete with sand and swings, was a project entitled 'Overshoot' created by the Musée d'Art Moderne (MUDAM) and will harmonise with the high temperatures to add to the summer feel of the festival.

Additional areas to eat and relax have been developed on the site, including a WiFi spot provided by Post Luxembourg and a lamp-lit path through the forest leading to a brand new food area with eight food trucks and a shaded hammock spot for festivalers to kick back in.

Rock-a-field will not be accessible by car, but a special RAF carpark has been set up five minutes from the site. Take the exit Dudelange-centre on the A3 (Luxembourg-Metz) and follow the RAF car park signs. Parking will cost a flat rate of €10 per car for the duration of the festival, including shuttle ride to RAF.

The shuttle will be running back and forth between Bettembourg train station and the Festival site, free of charge, from 12:00 on Friday 3 July until 10:00 on Monday 6 July.
