From 29 to 31 January 2016, the Centre des Arts Pluriels Ettelbruck (CAPE) will be holding the first a cappella festival in Luxembourg in recognition of singing in its purest form.

From beatboxing to classical singing, concerts to workshops, the new A CAPE'LLA Festival promises musical thrills in a variety of styles and traditions. The festival will be kicked off on the evening of Friday 29 January 2016 by two groups: Belgian professional vocal group Witloof Bar, composed of five singers and a beatboxer, who participated i the 2011 Eurovision contest and who cover pop, folk and jazz songs as well as create their own compositions; and Ommm, the four voices, human beatbox and master dub from Fontainebleau, who have won several international awards including the Grand Jury Prize at Leipzig's international 'A Cappella' competition.

Saturday will deliver different workshops for young people and adults as well as two concerts, beginning with vocal ensemble from the Greater Region, Picante, at 14:00 at the old Diekirch church. German beatbox duo Acoustic Instinct will provide the musical entertainment later that evening, followed by compatriots Jazzchor Freiburg.

The last day will be filled with workshops and events, with a morning opening at the old Saint-Laurent church in Diekirch from Luxembourg group Canto LX, whose repertoire focuses primarily on the Baroque period but incorporates contemporary, Renaissance and XIXth century music. Unduzo, a 'rising star' German group and recipient of numerous awards in 2015, will join French vocal group Les Grandes Gueles in closing the festival on the evening of Sunday 31 January 2016.

A Festival-Pass costs €60, or #30 for under 26s. Tickets per concert are also available. To reserve, contact 2681 2681 between 13:00 and 18:00 Monday-Friday, or visit www.cape.lu. More information is available at www.aCAPElla.lu
