The Luxembourg public now has access to more than 32,000 digital books and over 3,000 videos on a wide variety of topics through Safari Books Online.

Started in 2001 by O'Reilly Media and Pearson Education, the Safari Online Library now holds over 100 publishing partners and has thousands of ebooks and videos spanning topics from programming and IT networking to project management, graphic design and business strategy.

Individuals holding a valid library card from the National Library of Luxembourg, the University of Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) or the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) all have access to Safari Books Online. All content can be found via the search engine www.a-z.lu of the bibnet.lu library network of the National Library of Luxembourg (BNL).

For Luxembourg residents who do not ye have a library card, one can be obtained at the BNL at 37 boulevard F.D. Roosevelt, 2450 Luxembourg (next to the Cathedral) between 10:30-18:30 Tuesday to Friday and 09:00-12:00 on Saturdays. An ID or passport will be needed to carry out the registration.

"This library is a true laboratory to acquire today the skills of tomorrow," commented Luxembourg Prime Minister, Minister of Culture, Xavier Bettel.

Users can now develop the digital knowledge required to learn new skills, be assertve in the international ICT market and actively participate in the development of Luxembourg's digital society. The growing digital document offer forms part of the Digital Lëtzebuerg initiative of the government drawing on ICT as the main axis to economic development.
