On Thursday 2 June 2016, experimental musician Cate Le Bon will perform her fourth album "Crab Day" at Rotondes.

The Welsh singer-songwriter first caught the eyes and ears of the public in 2007 as a support act for Gruff Rhys on his UK tour. She has since provided vocals for acts such as Neon Neon, Richard James and The Gentle Good and has worked with Funeral for a Friend frontman Matt Davies. Her first official release was in fact in Welsh, an EP whose title in English loosely translates to "To Look a Gift Horse in the Mouth".

"Crab Day" represents her fourth solo album following on from "Me Oh My", "Cyrk" and "Mug Museum", having been released via Drag City/Turnstile in April this year.

The artist herself has described the album as "a coalition of inescapable feelings and fabricated nonsense, each propping the other up" which was "lovingly formed in the mouth of the Pacific Ocean, as it quietly mocked us with its magnitude".

In parallel with the release of "Crab Day", Cate le Bon shot a film with visual artist and filmmaker Phil Collins. Her performance at Rotondes forms part of a European tour.

The event will open at 20:00. Tickets cost €13 and can be purchased on the Rotondes website or on Songkick here.
