Luxembourg pianist and composer Michel Reis has begun his new Japan Quartet Spring Tour, taking place from 3 to 10 May 2017, with his Japan Quartet organised by the Japanese promoter Mocloud Promotion.
Hailed as a ‘tremendous pianist’ by Downbeat Magazine, Michel Reis has paved his way into an artist of international acclaim. Performing mainly with the Reis Demuth Wiltgen Trio as well as the Michel Reis Quartet, the Luxembourgish pianist has appeared in many of the world’s most famous venues and festivals.
During this tour, Michel Reis will play with fellow musicians whom he has known for many years, composed of Akihiro Nishiguchi on saxophone, Takashi Sugawa on bass and Shun Ishiwaka on drums. Together, they have been touring extensively in Japan.
They will take advantage of this tour to record a new album, that will be released on the Japanese label Mocloud Records (JP) in August 2017.
Finally, the Quartet will come to Luxembourg for a special concert at the Like A Jazz Machine Festival on 28 May 2017.
