This season’s jazz cycle ES'CAPE CLUB will end on Friday 16 June 2017 at 20:30 in the CAPE in Ettelbruck with a performance by the Marly Marquez Quintet.

The Marly Marques Quintet will perform at the jazz season finale at CAPE next Friday evening, where they will present their latest album ‘Encounter’.

Marly Marques, the lyricist of the group, lends her enthralling voice to four confirmed musicians, including saxophonist Jitz Jeitz and percussionist Paul Fox. Sometimes in Spanish, sometimes in Portuguese, the Marly Marques Quintet combine their compositions with standards of jazz music through the universe of modern pop.

In 2012 Marly Marques, born in Luxembourg with Portuguese parents, joined forces with saxophonist Jitz Jeitz, pianist Claude Schaus, bassist Laurent Peckels and percussionist Paul Fox. The success of the Marly Marques Quintet in high places of the Luxembourg jazz culture has carried them well beyond the borders: they have featured in the Kriol Jazz Festival of Cape Verde and the festival Al Bustan in Lebanon.

‘Encounter’, the band's second album, was released in 2016.

The ES'CAPE CLUB, a lounge-bar in the heart of the CAPE, allows you to relax while enjoying music and drinks for all tastes in a chill-out atmosphere. This performance will be the last musical date of this season.

Tickets cost €21, €10.50 for under 26s or €1.50 with a Kulturpass.
