Irish singer and songwrite Hozier shot to fame in 2013 with hit single 'Take Me to Church', a song he wrote in his parents' attic and the music video to which has now been watched a staggering 120 million times on Youtube. The video itself contributed to the success of the hit, as an expression of the musician's frustration with the abuse and homophobia experienced by couples in same-sex relationships.
In 2014 Hozier released his eponymous debut album, and the following year received a nomination for 'Song of the Year' at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. In July 2015, the artist was also nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards in the categories of 'Best Rock Video' and 'Best Video Direction'.
